Located in Emporia, Kansas, Wood by Jim has been creating custom designed pieces for over 30 years. In the beginning, Jim created custom belt buckles that were hand-carved and individually numbered. With thousands of buckles “under his belt”, Jim began to venture out and learn about computerized engraving. This new technology is what changed the direction of Wood by Jim forever.

What started as a hobby has now turned into a passion. After retiring, Jim decided to focus his newly found free time on developing his craft. Through in-house woodworking, engraving, and finishing capabilities, he is able to produce a wide range of quality items created out of wood, vinyl, glass or other materials. Choose from many styles of standard items or send Jim your custom request. Each piece is handmade and entirely unique.

Jim built his reputation on design expertise and an unmatched commitment to quality and service. Though he offers many standard designs, it's his ability to create custom designs that sets him apart.
